Privacy Policy

We collect the following categories of personal data:

• Account data. When you sign up, we collect your email address to create and identify your account, authenticate you, and manage your subscription status.
• Screenplay content (cloud sync). If you enable cloud sync, your scripts and screenplay data are stored encrypted in our database (Supabase). We do not read, analyse, or process your creative content for any purpose other than delivering the sync feature to you.
• Audio recordings (transcription). When you use the voice recording feature, audio is captured on your device and sent to Google AI (Gemini) for transcription. ScriptDraft does not store audio recordings on our own servers; the audio is processed in transit and discarded after transcription.
• AI feature inputs (optional). When you use AI features such as script generation, scene polish, or translation, the relevant scene text is sent to Google Gemini via an encrypted API call. Google's privacy policy applies to data processed by their services. ScriptDraft does not retain copies of these requests beyond the immediate API response.
• Usage data. We may collect anonymised usage statistics (e.g., feature usage frequency, session length) to understand how the Service is used and to improve it. This data does not identify you personally.
• Technical data. We may collect device type, operating system version, and anonymised crash logs to diagnose bugs and improve stability. These logs do not contain screenplay content or personal identifiers.

We use the data we collect for the following purposes:

• To create and maintain your account and authenticate your identity
• To provide, operate, and improve the ScriptDraft Service
• To sync your screenplay data across your devices
• To process AI feature requests (transcription, generation, scene polish)
• To manage your subscription and billing via Stripe
• To send transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset, subscription receipts)
• To diagnose and fix bugs and improve app stability
• To comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your screenplay content to train AI models. We do not use your data for advertising.

ScriptDraft relies on the following third-party services to operate. Each is subject to its own privacy policy:

• Supabase — database and authentication infrastructure. Your account data and screenplay content are stored on Supabase-hosted infrastructure. Supabase Privacy Policy
• Vercel — web hosting and edge functions. Requests to the ScriptDraft web app are served through Vercel's infrastructure. Vercel Privacy Policy
• Google AI (Gemini API) — AI features including transcription, script generation, and scene polish. Text and audio data is transmitted to Google for processing when you use these features. Google Privacy Policy
• Stripe — payment processing. Stripe handles all billing and payment card data. ScriptDraft does not store your payment card details. Stripe Privacy Policy

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as necessary to provide the Service. Screenplay content stored via cloud sync is retained until you delete it or your account.

You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings → Account. Deletion is permanent and irreversible. We will remove your data from our active systems within a reasonable period; some data may remain in encrypted backups for a limited time before being purged.

We may retain certain data where required by law or for legitimate business purposes such as fraud prevention and dispute resolution.

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access. Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Correction. Request that inaccurate or incomplete data be corrected.
• Deletion. Request deletion of your personal data. You can initiate this directly from Settings → Account in the app.
• Export / Portability. Request an export of your screenplay data in a portable format. This is available from Settings → Account.
• Objection / Restriction. Object to or request restriction of certain processing of your data.
• Withdraw consent. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access to user data is restricted to authorised personnel on a need-to-know basis.

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. If you discover a security vulnerability, please disclose it responsibly to Reveal contact.

ScriptDraft is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 where applicable under local law). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

If we make material changes to this Privacy Policy, we will update the date at the top of this page and notify you by email or via an in-app notice before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
